As a single mama, I place a tremendous amount of pressure on myself to be an amazing mom, make the right choices for my son, and always prioritize him in everything I do.

Additionally my job holds significant importance, as I am the sole provider for our household, which leads me to set exceptionally high standards for myself in my career. I constantly seek opportunities for improvement and new learning to advance professionally.

Recently, I obtained my notary license and have started taking appointments for that as well. Given all this, it’s easy to see why I often feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done.

And whether I’m feeling unwell or dealing with a headache, I can’t afford to miss a beat. I must prepare dinner for my son each night, assist with homework, and tidy up. Once we’ve finished these tasks, it’s time for his bath and bedtime routine. We ave our routine down to a science.

Finally at the very end of the day and only when he finally drifts off to sleep do I find a moment for myself. Usually spent catching up on laundry or dishes, preparing his things for the next day, and then a quick bath before heading to bed to reset for another busy morning.

Despite the constant whirlwind of responsibilities, I find small moments of joy that keep me motivated. A smile from my son, his excitement when he learns something new, or a simple hug can make the chaos feel worthwhile. These precious interactions remind me why I work so hard and reinforce the love and connection we share.

I also make sure to carve out time for self-care, even if it’s just a few minutes a day. Whether it’s reading a chapter of a book I enjoy, meditating, or enjoying a cup of tea in silence, these moments help replenish my energy and maintain my mental well-being.

Building a support network has been invaluable too. Friends, family, and other single parents provide encouragement, understanding, and sometimes a helping hand when needed. Sharing experiences and advice with others in similar situations helps me feel less alone and more empowered.

While the journey can be tough, it’s also incredibly fulfilling. Every challenge overcome becomes a testament to my strength and resilience as a single mama. And with each passing day, I grow more confident in my ability to navigate this path, always striving to create a nurturing and loving environment for my son and myself.
